Youth Ministry: 4 New Years Resolutions for an Amazing 2014!

Pray Longer!

“The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.” James 5:16 – Do we need any more reason to pray than this?! Mark Batterson says this about prayer: “IMG_5217Prayers are prophecies. They are the best predictors of your spiritual future. Who you become is determined by how you pray. Ultimately, the transcript of your prayers becomes the script of your life.” (The Circle Maker). In 2014, we will take the time to pray longer for God to move in the lives of our students & leaders & we will pray for God to lead us every step of the way!

Dream Bigger!

“Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think. “Ephesians 3:20 – If God wants to do more for us than we could ask or imagine, then we better start dreaming God sized dreams! Joel Osteen says “If you can see the invisible, God will do the impossible!” In 2014, we will take the time to dream bigger so that God can do infinitely more than we might ask or think in our youth ministry!

Laugh Louder!

“A joyful heart is good medicine.” Proverbs 17:22 – Youth ministry is challenging & the victories can seem few at times. Therefore, we must look for the good things God is doing, celebrate the victories & find things to laugh about even if its our failures!  If you’re not laughing, you’re not living abundantly! Tommy Newberry says “God wants you to be completely alive, full of passion & bursting with joy! After all, we’re his children –  & would you want anything less for your children?” (The 4:8 Principle). In 2014, we will laugh louder with joy at all the great things God is doing in our lives, in our students & in our ministry!

Fight Harder!

“Rescue others by snatching them from the flames of judgment.” Jude 1:23 – Current stats tell us that up to 94% of teens who grew up in the church are leaving after High School!!! Youth Pastors & youth leaders are on the front lines & in the trenches of the bloody war being waged by Satan for the souls of this generation! Lives are at stake and Satan’s mission is to kill, steal and destroy our teens! We must have an all-in-whatever it takes mindset!  We must rescue the lost sheep! We must have a discipleship strategy that equips our students for the battle! It will cost you! It will be hard, but what war is ever easy? There is bloodshed & many tears but at the end we will receive a prize! In 2014, we will fight harder for our teenagers salvation than the devil is fighting for their destruction!
